Acorn Page

I've been interested in all sorts of computing machine since I was a young kid. My first computer was a Sinclair ZX Spectrum 48k. My second computer was an Acorn A3000. After moving to Australia, I got an Acorn A5000, then a Risc PC.

At first, it was just playing games, then it was typing in BASIC programs from listings in magazines, then it was writing my own programs. Now it's designing chips and FPGA designs.

After discovering the RedSquirrel emulator for the PC, my interest in Acorn machines has been rekindled. It runs RISC OS - the nicest OS I have used in a long time. It's a bit dated now, but I wrote a few programs for it when I was a student and it would be a shame to let them disappear into the vanishware void.

Utilities

!SSort - Sort sprite files alphabetically
!MDisplay - View hi-res sprites on machines that don't have multiscan monitors.

FireBolt

I spent several months writing Firebolt when I was a university student. I released it on the web in about 1995 for a while, then it disappeared when the site was re-designed.

It's back and this is the latest version v1.01 (source v1.64).

!Firebolt - A wicked video game for up to 4 players

After spending a long time, kicking around on my hard drive, I have decided to put the source code to !Firebolt on the web. It isn't the latest version at the moment - the code to deal with Rockhogs is missing. The most up-to-date version of the code is back where I left it, in Scotland. Not much chance of getting it from Australia, so I will re-write the Rockhog code when I get a chance.
I may also put a decent front-end on the game! Wouldn't that be nice.
